Park House

Please check opening times and entry fees before you go to avoid any disappointment

Feed the ducks and visit the park! (Harlaxton)

Chuck the crusts that nobody ever eats into a bag and go to the bridge on the Harlaxton Manor walk to feed the ducks, geese and swans. They’ll be happy to see you! On the way back, pop to the village sports ground for some footy or the children's playground.

Grantham Canal (Harlaxton)

Put your walking shoes on and enjoy a Canal walk from Harlaxton to have lunch at the Dirty Duck at Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir. Go back through village and across the A607 and down The Drift to the bottom to see the canal entrances

Barrowby Play Area

The neighbouring village has a larger, newer play area (opened 2018) - just follow The Drift to the left of The Gregory to Barrowby, turn left and head into the village to find it on the green

Jump Revolution Trampoline Park (Springfield Road Industrial Estate, Grantham)

Opening October 2016 (date tbc) it promises to have giant airbag, dodgeball, cardio wall challenge and gladiator foam pit, in addition to the large open trampolining space and café. For children and adults. (2.6 miles)

Meres Leisure Centre (Grantham)

Get your trunks out and visit the Meres Leisure Centre for a swim or flume ride, or tackle the giant ‘Juggernaut’ inflatable (session times vary – please check in advance). You can also hire tennis courts, table tennis tables, go rock climbing, badminton and more! (2.7 miles)

Savoy Cinema (Grantham)

Multi-screen cinema with all the latest releases. Local multi-storey car park. St Catherine's Road. (3.2 miles)

Fun Farm – indoor play centre (Grantham)

Wear the kids out at the Fun Farm on Dysart Road, Grantham. Under 1s and adults free, great for kids up to about 11. (3.3 miles)

Grantham Bowl Ten Pin Bowling Alley (Grantham)

Put on those unmistakeable shoes and get set for a few strikes and spares! Worth checking for lane deals and off peak reductions. ‘Glow Bowling at weekends and during school holidays. Jak’s American -style diner is on site if you fancy eating while you’re there. (3.3 miles)

The Engine Yard (created by Belvoir Castle)

Lovely collection of independent retailers, cafe, delicatessan, garden centre and more. (5.6 miles)

Belvoir Castle (Belvoir, near Grantham)

Explore the stunning Belvoir Castle (pronounced ‘Beaver’) check for seasonal opening dates and special events including the National Fireworks Championship in August, steam and game fairs. Entry and parking charges apply. (5.8 miles)

Belton House – National Trust (Grantham)

Both kids and adults will love the fantastic outdoor adventure playground, a walk around the grounds including the maze, or a tour of Belton House itself. Free with National Trust membership. If you are not a NT member you can still do the long walk up to the house. Home of Belton Horse Trials every April. (5.9 miles)

Belton Woods Hotel Spa

This local hotel offers a selection of luxurious day spa packages for those who like to relax and be pampered. (5.9 miles)

Belton Garden Centre

Browse the wide array of plants and gifts and enjoy a lovely lunch in the lovely café. (5.9 miles)

Boundary Mills Outlet Store (Grantham)

Go bargain hunting for up to 70% off top brands at Boundary Mill including Jaeger, Hobbs, Phase Eight, Jacques Vert, Austin Reed, Wolsey, Tog 24, Pierre Cardin. Also next door to Downtown superstore and garden centre. (6.2 miles)

Ropsley Pitch and Putt (Somerby Road, Ropsley, Grantham, NG33 4AZ)

No booking required, turn up and play (bring your own clubs and balls or ask to borrow some from us), honesty system for payment – at last visit was £5 per adult, £1 per child. 9 holes, par 3. You may have to ask for directions once you’ve reached the village. (8.6 miles)

Easton Walled Gardens

Take a stroll around the beautiful Easton Walled Gardens and estate, 450 years in the making, just south of Grantham. Free parking, tea room and gift shop. Check opening times and entry charges at (10 miles)

Isaac Newton’s Woolsthorpe Manor – National Trust (Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth)

Visit the childhood home of Isaac Newton at Woolsthorpe Manor, see the most famous apple tree in the world and get interactive at the adjoining science centre! Free with National Trust membership. (9.6 miles)

Wymondham Windmill (near Melton Mowbray)

Head for heights? Enjoy climbing Wymondham Windmill and then treat yourself to afternoon tea! (11.5 miles)

Twin Lakes Family Theme Park (near Melton Mowbray)

Rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, animals, water park, seasonal events and attractions. Book online tickets in advance (cheaper – we will print them for you – just ask). It’s a full day out – why not take a picnic too? (12 miles)

Footgolf - Sysonby Acres (Melton Mowbray)

If you can bend it like Beckham, or just like a bit of healthy family competition, this makes for a fun afternoon. (14.1 miles)

Terminal 1 Skatepark (just beyond Melton Mowbray)

Are you ready!? Enjoy all the ramps and jumps this 13,000sqft indoor skate park has to offer all year round. Plus 6,000sqft outdoor BMX pump track. For all ages and abilities, open sessions and family hour sessions etc. Non member beginner 1 hour beginner session £4, 2-8 hour sessions from £4-13 (15.3 miles)

Ancaster Leisure: Karting/Paintball/Laser Tag/Ten Pin Bowling/Quad Bikes (Ancaster)

A whole feast of action-packed activities to get stuck into. Release your inner Hamilton on the two unique circuits or obliterate your friends and family on the paintball (low impact available) or laser tag courses (laser tag course is outdoor in woodland). Booking in advance essential. (11.0 miles)

Naturescape Wild Flower Farm (Langar)

Love all things gardening? Visit Naturescape Wild Flower Farm. Admission to the visitor center, tea room, wildlife garden, wild flower fields, meadows, dragonfly pond, woodlands, sales area and café on. Check opening times at: (13.4 miles)

Eden Hall Spa (Elston, near Newark)

Book a fabulously relaxing day spa package at Eden Hall Spa and perhaps a treatment or two…..the ultimate day of chill. (17.2 miles)

Rutland Water Reservoir & Rutland Aqua Park (Oakham, Rutland)

Take your bikes or hire some for the day at Rutland Water and see if you can make it all the way around! Fishing, bird watching and family events.  

Rutland Water Park has the large inflatable assault course on the water – 55 min session, booking in advance required and includes wet suit - google search Aquapark Rutland. From c. May to September. 

Or enjoy a stroll by the reservoir, a trip on across the water on the Rutland Belle or try the climbing wall. Small charge for parking. (24.2 miles)

Burghley House (Burhgley near Stamford)

Explore ‘England’s Greatest Elizabethan House’ and gardens at Burghley House, or one of its many craft fairs and events during the year including Burghley Horse Trials in early Sept. (24.4 miles)

The Workhouse – National Trust (Southwell)

Travel back in time to Victorian Britain to see how hard life really was. Free entry with National Trust membership. Excellent audio tour. (26.5 miles)

Tallington Lakes Leisure Park (Near Stamford)

Visit Tallington Lakes and try your hand at paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing – there’s also a 130m dry ski slope! (27.5 miles)

Whisby Nature Park (Whisby, towards Lincoln)

Choose one of the many trails around Whisby Nature Park and then check out the Natural World Centre too (small charge for parking, then free) (27.8 miles)

National Space Centre (Leicester)

Visit the National Space Centre in Leicester to find out more about living in space, the universe and everything! (29.5 miles)

Richard III Visitor Centre (Leicester)

The exhibition exploring the King’s life and death and his discovery under a Leicester city car ...Tickets can be booked in advance at (33.2 miles)

Lincoln Castle and Cathedral (Lincoln)

Visit historic Lincoln; the castle, the Magna Carta Exhibition, the cathedral and lots of dinky independent shops on ‘Steep Hill’. Feeling peckish on the way? Stop off at ‘Damon’s Resturant’ on the way for an American diner experience and some of their famous onion loaf! (36 miles)
